Inspirations: Hayley Kiyoko

It's been a while since I've posted an inspiration and I've decided to showcase my favourite girl whom I look up to in terms of creativity & style! This person goes by the name of Hayley Kiyoko.

I was first introduced to Hayley in my childhood a few years ago.. if anyone remembers Disney's "Lemonade Mouth" back in 2011. She also played a character on the Disney show "Wizards of Waverly Place" and kind of recently, had a role on my favourite show, "The Fosters"! Anyways, I noticed that she always played that different kind of girl, the one that's independent, does what she wants, believes in what she stands for, and that's what really made me like her. Little did I know, thanks to Maia Mitchell for featuring her music on her Instagram, that she WAS more or less like the characters she played on Disney.

Okay now I need to talk about this girl's style. WOW is all I can say. She is the number 1 person I look up to for fashion because her style is so unique and I'm all about personal style and expressing myself through what I wear. From the bold prints, the mixing and matching, her hair.. this girl is so cool! HAHA. I love her experimental style which also goes with her shameless attitude and personality. But seriously, her fashion sense is awesome.

To conclude, I'd like to talk about Hayley's music. Well, from Lemonade Mouth, I knew she could sing. I just didn't know she was doing stuff on her own afterwards. A few months ago, I discovered her first EP called "A Belle To Remember" which immediately got me hooked to following her on social media platforms to keep up to date with her works. A few months later, she released her newest EP "This Side Of Paradise" which has been coming out to the spotlight because of one very famous music video of her song "Girls Like Girls". The video is honestly one of the best ones I've ever seen with such a strong message and it was just so well done. Hayley Kiyoko's music is certainly different and I don't listen to her just because it's her, but because I find her music really "feel good" (if you get that.. LOL) and her creativity really stands out of her music. This girl is just overall a beautiful art piece with a creative mind and that's why she's one of my inspirations!

Check out her two EPs! (P.S. The album art is amazing, right?)

Lots of love,

Lindsey
